After using the derma roller I applied a humectant like Masād’s hydrating serum which is an amazing combo and it helps soothe the skin right after.Will I use this again? Probably not as I am terrified of what can potentially happen if not using it correctly.

I’ve been a skincare junkie since I was a teen, but after 5 years working off in makeup, I did a deep-dive into skincare, ingredients, and even professional treatments. One of the first devices I tried was a dermaroller. There are cheaper versions of this, and there are quality versions. Based on my experience, the Maskad dermaroller is a very good quality option. I love that the needles are stainless steel, because that means you don’t have to clean after every use. Stainless steel is essentially antimicrobial, as its not porous surface means it does not hold bacteria. I like that this roller is larger than some others, because it covers a nice amount of skin so you can finish the treatment faster. It also comes with a small lid to prevent poking yourself. It works so nicely with the Maskad hydrating serum, and my other hydrating masks & products. If you’re new to dermarollers, make sure you watch a how-to video, and go slow. You want to use gentle products in your skin right after as your skin will be a bit irritated.

I’ve been in the beauty industry for over 22 years now as a licensed cosmetologist, esthetician and professional makeup artist. I’ve also been using a derma roller for quite a few years now and truly love the whole concept and results when done carefully and correctly. They work by creating micro injuries in the skin which stimulate the skin’s natural healing process to create collagen and elastin fibers and it causes minimal damage compared to more invasive treatments such as certain lasers but can give just as good results. As an esthetician I have used derma rollers with more depth puncture but would never recommend that for clients or anyone who isn’t a professional. When I received the Maskād Derma roller I could tell it had a smaller needle depth at 0.25 mm, they can range from 0.25- 2mm. 0.25mm needle length can exfoliate the skin and provide product penetration, I would never recommend any larger size unless there is severe scarring and other issues your trying to address. After using I felt as if my face was a bit sunburned to give you an idea of what it feels like and whether it hurts, your skin will be on the pinkish side, that’s when you know you’ve done it right and not overdone it, then immediately applying the serum of your choice you’ll definitely see a drastic difference in brightness and vitality. I highly recommend derma rolling to all my clients and they always thank me for it later.

The Muskad Dermaroller works well for what it is. I know that the dermarollers are a good way to work on getting skin to look younger after use, but I always advocate for a more professional and aggressive microdermal option. Typically, by the time the customers are seeking this type of product, the lines are very set in. However, for clients who are seeking a more subtle solution would definitely benefit from this dermaroller. It comes in sterile packaging, reaches .25mm in depth, and has an excellent grip for optimal control. It is a great way to open up your skin for the best delivery of your congruent face care products by allowing for maximum penetration. While this type of skincare delivery isn’t my first recommendation, I do like this roller the best out of the current options available.

I would typically incorporate this mask into a healing facial performed after a skin procedure such as laser or micro-needling. I say that knowing that Maskād also makes a dermal roller with better results by applying the Hydrogel mask afterward. Its ingredients really did calm down redness and swelling that can happen after too much time in the sun or by using the dermal roller.I admit that I don’t usually use one-use sheet masks; however, hydrogel masks are typically recyclable. The mask comes in two pieces to contour better to your skin. I love this feature because I have facial hair and can move the bottom piece onto my neck. The feeling after 15 minutes on is amazing. My skin looked healthier than it has in a while.
